Asheville - Where We Went & What I Wore

Even though my left eardrum perforated on Sunday from the fluid behind my ear (from being sick for 2 months straight) not liking the change of altitude very much, I still had an absolutely marvelous time in Asheville with my hubs and parents last weekend!!

My parents are the very definition of foodies!!  And over time, Blake and I have developed quite the taste for an expensive meal now and again, as well ;)  So of course, basically our entire trip was centered around where we were going to eat every night... But I'm ok with that!!!

We ate at so many wonderful places while in Asheville!!  My favorite restaurant was on the first night - The Red Stag Grill, which is on the first floor of The Grand Bohemian Hotel, just minutes from the entrance to Biltmore!!  This restaurant is very near and dear to my heart because it was the place that Blake was going to propose to me (long story, but it just didn't work out to be the right time...)

The second night we ate at my Dad's favorite restaurant - The Chestnut!  This beautiful place had the MOST AMAZING Lobster Bisque!! I highly recommend it!!!  The Chestnut has a much lighter feel to it compared with the very dark, mysterious Red Stag Grill.  The food was excellent, and the wait staff was very entertaining (3 drinks were spilled on paying customers during the hour and a half we were there - including myself).

On the last night, we ate at a "gourmet Mexican" restaurant.  This one was new to all of us, as it was a suggestion from one of Blake's co-workers - Limones.  The atmosphere was so perfect, and the food was amazing!!  It was the least fancy of our evenings, but even with a busted eardrum, this night was my favorite!!  Not to mention the fact that we had dessert there, and then we went and had a second dessert around the corner at The Chocolate Lounge [embarrassing, but worth it].

If you live in the Southeast I highly recommend a visit to Asheville!  It has the very best of both worlds within a 30 minute drive!!  You can spend the day tucked away in the beautiful, tranquil mountains and then head into the city at night for the upscale life!!  Its one of my favorite places to be because it does have both!!!
